FEM (Female Electronic Musician) Records is a 21st century record label focusing exclusively on female artists, composers and producers. In the highly male-dominated world of electronic music the female perspective is an almost entirely overlooked segment of the community. The mission of FEM Records is to raise public awareness with respect to the wide range of talented women working in electronic music today. The label features several passionately creative artists from around the world working in a variety of styles, all under the umbrella of instrumental electronic music.

Aiming to be a global presence, FEM Records offers the danceable electro-pulse of PSGirl (Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain), cinematic excursions from Tiffany Lunn (United Kingdom), the heavy techno with abstract overtones from Fear of Symmetry (Belgrade, Serbia) and the electro-ambient chillout sounds of natsq (Katowice, Poland).

The label represents a full spectrum of American artists including the haunting soundscapes of Deform (New York City), cutting edge sonic experiments from Margaret Noble (San Diego), dark, futuristic sounds of Eden Grey (Miami), cross-genre industrial explorations from Sadore (Los Angeles), as well as the rhythmically complex and trippy productions of Jezika (Washington, DC).

To date FEM Records has produced two compilation releases to showcase the variety of our artists:

The first is our Compilation CD 2009 featuring one track from each artist on the label. All proceeds from the sale of this release will be donated to the Expanding Your Horizons Network - a non-profit organization who's mission is to encourage young women to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers. The release features eight tracks of instrumental electronic music covering the spectrum of IDM, down-tempo, electro, glitch, ambient and more.

Our most recent compilation is the Artist Sampler 2009 which is offered as both a free download and a physical CD. This sampler album features eight tracks of music and includes images of artwork, photography and sculpture created by our artists. The styles range from IDM to ambient, experimental to vocal, and trippy to abstract. To download simply register - registration is free and enables you to have instant access to all free downloads in the future. After registering, login and you will see the Free Downloads link appear on the left side of the site.

The FEM Records website also features a "VIP Members" section which is free for anyone to register and allows members to receive special benefits including access to exclusive content from the FEM artists such as video, free music downloads and VIP discounts on store items. VIP members are also able to contact the artists through private messaging, friend connections and comments. Think of it as an exclusive private MySpace or Facebook. The site also includes an integrated online store as well as a forum for open discussion about the FEM Records artists and related topics.
